New name, who's this?

Major rebrand and miles long leap in development, let's catch up and celebrate 100,000 downloads on Google Play.

Anvil-MC underwent a ton of changes and upgrades in the recent few months, and we find it reasonable to do some retrospective in this publication and tell you more about what we were doing and why.

Rebrand — why?

The most striking change you might have noticed is obviously a change of name. A few users felt "ARM-MC" had a nice ring to it, but we wanted a name that's unmistakably ours and won't be mixed up with the wider tech world and decided a fresh, distinct identity was the right move as the app grows.

100k downloads — yuppie!

We've officially crossed 100,000 downloads!

Thank you to everyone who uses the app, reports issues, suggests new features, and shares their feedback. Every message helps us make the app better for you.

Don't forget to join our Discord server to share your experience, chat with the community, and show off the creations you've built in your Minecraft worlds!

Game modes

For a long time the 'Island Survival' was the only template on the list, and we wanted to expand that. Now the templates are replaced with Gamemode Setup when creating a new server. This option allows you to quickly set up a server for one of the following game modes:

  • SkyBlock — Start on a tiny floating island with only a chest of supplies. Expand your sky empire one block at a time.
  • OneBlock — Everything begins with a single magical block. Mine it endlessly as it generates new blocks, mobs, and even entire biomes.
  • AcidIsland — Survive on an island surrounded by a deadly sea of acid. Build carefully and stay above the surface if you want to stay alive.
  • CaveBlock — Begin deep underground with limited resources. Dig, explore, and carve out your own subterranean kingdom.

Install Modpacks in one tap

Playing Minecraft is fun, but modded Minecraft is where things really get interesting.

Although Anvil-MC has supported mods and plugins for a while, setting up large modpacks could be a time-consuming process. Starting from version 1.6.2 onwards you can install complete modpacks from Modrinth directly through the app.

Just select "Modpack Setup" when creating a new server, choose a modpack of your liking, and Anvil-MC will handle the rest. No more hunting for dependencies, downloading hundreds of files, or manually uploading mods — your server will be ready to play in just a few clicks.

Some modpacks may not be supported on all devices due to Java version requirements or hardware limitations. While Anvil-MC does its best to simplify the installation process, certain packs were simply never designed with mobile hardware in mind. As much as we'd love to help, you're probably not going to be running RLCraft on your phone anytime soon.

Easy Bedrock Support!

Anvil-MC is specifically designed to host the Java version of Minecraft. But what if some of your friends play on Bedrock Edition? No worries — they can join the fun too!

Anvil-MC allows you to enable Bedrock Support in server settings, and just like that in one tap you can let your friends on Bedrock join your server and enjoy the game together.

Bedrock compatibility is powered by the popular Geyser and Floodgate plugins. While it was always possible to install and configure these plugins manually, Anvil-MC now takes care of the setup for you automatically. Just enable the feature, and you're ready to go.

Use AI to debug

Your server crashed and you don't know why? We can help!

Reading through the logs and trying to figure out what went wrong can be pretty frustrating. The new AI Crash Analyzer will automatically examine crash reports and provide instant suggestions to help you identify and resolve the issue faster.

Free users receive 2 analyses every 24 hours, while Premium users get 10 analyses per day. However, if a crash has already been analyzed by someone in the community, viewing the cached solution is completely free and does not count toward your daily limit.

This shared knowledge base helps everyone benefit from previous analyses while we continue working toward making AI-powered crash analysis unlimited for all users.

Multi-language support

Wird die deutsche Sprache unterstützt? Jah!

We value our users from all around the world and want to make Anvil-MC as accessible and easy to use as possible. That means speaking your language whenever we can.

Recent updates added full interface translations for:

  • Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Polish, Spanish, Japanese, Filipino, Turkish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Italian, and Russian.

Spot a translation issue? We weren't able to find native proofreaders for every language on the list, so you may occasionally encounter minor translation or phrasing issues. If you spot anything that could be improved, we'd love to hear from you on Discord.

Web-Dashboard

The new Web Dashboard lets you manage your server remotely from any web browser.

Let's face it — typing commands and reading logs is often much easier on a PC than on a small phone screen. That's exactly why we built the Web Dashboard.

With it, you can:

  • Monitor server performance and resource usage
  • View server logs in real time
  • Execute console commands remotely
  • Share server management access with friends (beta)

Whether you're troubleshooting an issue, managing a community server, or simply prefer a larger screen, the Web Dashboard gives you convenient access to your server wherever you are.

Internet connection required. The Web Dashboard currently requires internet connectivity and is not available for servers played exclusively over a local network (LAN).

… and much much more!

We've delivered so many improvements to Anvil-MC over the past few months that it almost feels like a completely different app now. Hence the name change! :D

The features listed above are just the highlights. Countless smaller improvements, fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements have also made their way into the app, many of which could easily deserve blog posts of their own.

We haven't always done the best job of sharing these updates with you, largely because we've been busy building them. But that's something we're looking to improve moving forward, so expect to hear from us more often as Anvil-MC continues to grow.
